Corsec Guides ScienceLogic to Successful DoD Product Certification

IT Monitoring Software Client Gains Inclusion on the Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL)

Fairfax, VA, August 20, 2014 – Corsec, the world’s leading validation solutions provider, recently added ScienceLogic, Inc. to its growing list of clients who have achieved inclusion on the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL). ScienceLogic Inc. now holds the distinction of being the first-ever complete end-to-end IT infrastructure monitoring company named to the DoD’s UC APL.

Corsec guides businesses through this and other critical and complex certification and validation processes. ScienceLogic hired Corsec to help navigate the process of getting its EM7 IT infrastructure software included on the UC APL, which will pave the way for product deployment within DoD agencies.

“Achieving this critical milestone is a massive achievement that opens the door to the DoD and beyond. But like most major accomplishments, winning it was no small task,” said Dave Link, co-founder and CEO at ScienceLogic. “The guidance we received through our partnership with Corsec proved critical in our success.”

Created in 2011, DoD’s UC APL represents the agency’s master list of secure, trusted and approved technology infrastructure products. The UC APL was developed in an effort to maintain a single consolidated list of products that have completed Interoperability (IO) and Information Assurance (IA) certification.

Getting a product included on this coveted list involves a rigorous 39-step process overseen by the Unified Capabilities Certification Office (UCCO). This laborious and often confusing process involves the submission of a series of properly completed forms and product documentation, attainment of prerequisite validations and certifications such as FIPS 140-2 and Common Criteria, and adherence to strict scheduling guidelines and interdependencies.

“When we first met with ScienceLogic, we instantly saw the opportunity to help introduce a vital piece of software capable of truly benefiting today’s complex, hybrid IT infrastructures within DoD agencies, ” said Matthew Appler, Corsec’s CEO and co-founder. “Being the first to achieve a certification as challenging as the UC APL is never easy, but we knew we could provide them with the support they needed to win.  We are proud to be partners with innovative IT pioneers like ScienceLogic, and look forward to helping them forge ahead with future validations, as they will surely grow as a result of this latest inclusion.”

ScienceLogic EM7 network monitoring and management capabilities maximize availability and optimize performance of IT networks by suppressing alarms, de-duping events, and reducing false positives and overall “noise.” This single platform solution automates network device information collection, including identification and tracking of business-critical trends and key performance indicators. ScienceLogic’s EM7 also measures utilization, errors, discards, and dozens of other metrics, and uses embedded management templates and knowledge bases to deliver accurate assessments. The resulting detailed analysis provides end-to-end network monitoring and management for the entire infrastructure, including monitoring of applications, systems, and performance analysis. ScienceLogic now joins other Corsec clients, such as Forescout, in setting course for rapidly increased product deployment and company growth by achieving the DoD’s UC APL certification.
