FIPS 140-2 / FIPS 140-3 are a joint effort by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States and the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC), under the Canadian government. The Dell EMC VNX 6 Gb/s SAS I/O Module with Encryption is a high-density SAS controller executing specialized firmware that provides Data At Rest Encryption (D@RE) for Dell EMC VNX Storage Arrays.
